Short Hair, Big Bellies, and Metal Teeth

The original intent of this post was to show my friends who didn’t know me back when I had short hair what a not good idea it is for me to have short hair.  But then, I learned at WordCamp that one of the best ways to promote your blog is to post embarrassing pictures of yourself. (Ok, maybe I made that part up.)

Anyhow, here are some pictures of some of the old “MEs” that will hopefully never exist again.  Since it is Memorial Day weekend, I thought we could memorialize all these old MEs.  (Yes, I know that is not really what memorial day is about.)

Here’s the ME with Carina in my belly:

Oh, and I had braces too.  Because being pregnant is not miserable enough on it’s own when you are extreme like me.  But, I have a sweet girl and straight teeth to show for my strife. I remember I visited Eastport Dental Centre to extract my wisdom teeth before pregnancy as I was afraid they could hurt. I was glad nothing could stop me from smiling after that.

Here is the ME with Callen in my belly:

See what happened when I didn’t have braces to curb my eating habits? See that snowman in the picture?  He was Carina’s “training brother.”  She pushed him down on the floor and then picked him up and kissed him a lot.

Here is a ME with short hair.

Yes, the ME with short hair was also a super hero.  I was the prototype for Elasta Girl (aka Mrs. Incredible).  Thank god they changed the super suit design before they made the movie.

And here is the ME with even shorter hair.

Isn’t Craig’s boyfriend cute?  Harry Potter’s got nothin’ on me! (except that scar…)

Haha. No offense, Lins. This post is actually the result of a conversation I had with some other moms, one of whom has short hair, in which we all admired her hair cut and said that if we could pull it off, we would wear our hair short. You definitely pull off short hair beautifully – lucky for you!

Woah, woah, woah, woah. The prototype for ELASTA GIRL? Need more information on this, please. This might be the most impressive thing I’ve learned about anybody in a long time…

P.S. You totally rock the short hair.

yes, what is this elasta girl biz? we need more details. And, for the record, I love your elasta girl hair.

You gals know I’m kidding about the Elasta Girl thing, right? Her nose is way pointier than mine.

Short hair no. But the bob was cute. I tried a pageboy a few years ago and my friends all said it was cute, until one honest night of drinking. Erin said: Why’d you cut your hair it was so cute before.

  7. Fawn says:

Haha. Thanks Katherine. I agree, honesty is always best – just wish it didn’t require alcohol to get it!
