Hop by Park Plaza Mall for a photo session with the Easter Bunny. Visits with the fluffy-tailed friend are free; photo packages start at $21.

Thurdsay, April 5Youth Poetry Slam @ Central Arkansas Library Main Branch 6:30pm
Youth are encouraged to share their original work in this poetry performance competition. The winners will compete in a state-wide slam at the Arkansas Literary Festival.

Friday, April 6 thru Sunday, April 8Great Escape Weekend & Easter Egg Hunt @ Petit Jean State Park
Celebrate spring and the great outdoors at our Great Escape Weekend! Enjoy free nature-related walks and other family oriented activities. The celebration will conclude with an Easter egg scramble for about 2,000 eggs.

Saturday, April 7Community Yard Sale @ Greenbrier City Event Center 6am
Come check out the treasures at this indoor sale with plenty of parking. There’s a Pancake Breakfast for 6am to 9am for $5 per person, and hot dogs from 10am to 1pm.

Saturday April 7River Rail Eggspress @ Downtown Little Rock and Argenta 8:30am-6pm
Free Trolley Rides begin at 8:30 AM and continue through Midnight.  9:00 AM – 9:30 AM the Easter Bunny will Meet & Greet at the River Market, then board the Trolley for the Trolley Barn in Argenta.  10:30 AM – 3 PM at the River Rail Trolley Barn (Argenta, NLR) – Free Pose & Refreshments with the Easter Bunny (Bring your Camera)
Ride the River Rail and get your Eggspress Promotions Card for Great Deals along the Trolley Route, and a chance at one of six golden eggs worth $15 at downtown businesses.

Saturday, April 7Free Kid’s Workshop @ Your Local Home Depot, 9:00am – 12:00 pm
These workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills, tool safety, and instill a sense of pride and accomplishment. All kids get to keep their craft and receive a FREE Kids Workshop Apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement. This month’s project is a window bird feeder. Workshops are designed for children ages 5 – 12.

Saturday, April 7Easter Egg Hunt @ Burns Park Pavillion 10 11:30am
At Burns Park, kids ages 1-9 are divided into three age groups, with only 25 children seeking out Easter eggs at any given time. When they aren’t on the hunt, children can participate in various games and holiday activities, enter to win prizes and take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Registration starts at 9:00 am

Saturday April 7Soda Fountain Grand Opening @ Green Corner Store 12pm-7pm
The Green Corner Store celebrates their brand new soda fountain with live music and free mini cones. The new soda fountain will feature locally-made ice cream,  herbal sodas made from scratch, handmade waffle cones, sherbets and varieties of ice cream made from goat’s milk.

Sunday, April 8Easter Eggstasy @ DeGray Lake Resort State Park
Games, hikes, and nature programs are offered throughout the day. The hunt begins at 2pm. Contact 501-844-4176.

Sunday, April 8 – Easter Egg Hunt @ Lake Catherine State Park (Hot Springs) 2pm
Kids ages 12 and under hunt for thousands of candy and treat-filled eggs. BYOBasket. Contact 501-844-4176 for more information.

Tuesday, April 10King of the Ice Cream Mountain play @ Laman Library 9:30am
The Cadron Company, UCA Theatre’s own traveling troupe of players, bring to life the Kingdom of Frozenburr. The ice cream-rich land is ruled by King Bumpygruff, until things go awry and wicked Zeno takes control. The show is aimed at ages 4-11.

Thursday, April 12  – Kinder Concert @ Central Arkansas Libraries Main branch 6:30pm
Join Brian and Terri Kinder for musical fun as this local singing and songwriting duo entertain kids and parents alike with their catchy, kid-friendly tunes. This concert is part of the Literary Festival.

Walks, talks, and evening presentations all related to the celebration of spring wildflowers. Contact 501-727-5441

Friday-Sunday, April 13-15 – Birds and Blooms Weekend @ Lake Catherine State Park
Guided wildflower and bird hikes and educational nature programs explore the many birds and blooms in the Ouachita Mountain landscape.  Contact 501.844.4176 for more information.

Saturday, April 149th Annual England Celebration @ Foster Park in England
Live band, tour of Wagon Yard Museum, carnival, food, games, crafts, exhibits, art show. Rain date is April 21.

Saturday, April 14Family Health Fest @ The Promenade at Chenal, 10:00am-2:00pm.
Bring the entire family for an exciting day of health & fun! This isn’t your typical Health Fair, it’s a Family Health Fest! There will be Free health screenings, Q&A with various experts from St. Vincent’s, food samples, and activities including Face Painting, Bike & Helmet Safety, Soda Bottle Bowling, Ladder Obstacle Course, Jump Rope & Football Toss,and more.

Saturday, April 14 A Day of Family Events @ The Arkansas Literary Fest, 9am-4pm
There’s a whole host of fun things going on in downtown Little Rock and North Little Rock in conjunction with the Arkansas Literary Festival.  Theater performances, puppet shows, workshops, and poetry readings.  All Free!
