Our Southwest Missouri Summer Bucket List

Bucket Lists are gaining in popularity, and being semi-new in town, I thought it would helpful to put together a list of things that we can check out as a family right here in Springfield and Southwest Missouri.  It’s also a component of the 100 Days of Summer planning process.  Last summer I made a Little Rock, Arkansas bucket list, if you’re interested.

Be sure to let us know if you go to Joplin! We’d love to meet up! Crystal Bridges in Bentonville may be worthy of your list too! We may just may a trip your way too! If you guys have free time and want visitors!

  2. Hilary says:

What about get kids teeth cleaned at Little Grins?

  3. Alicia says:

If you’re looking for a great ‘out of the way’ eat, you should definitely try La Galette Berichonne in Fordland. It’s an authentic French restaurant with lots of yummy pastries. Their food is delicious- and super cheap!

  4. Fawn says:

Awesome! I had just recently heard about “the little French place in Fordland” – we’ll definitely try to get out there soon.

  5. Fawn says:

Ha! Yes, everyone should bring their kids to Little Grins this summer!!

  6. Fawn says:

We will! Let us know if you are up this way, too. We went to crystal bridges last summer – it’s definitely a must-see!

  7. Jeremy Boyer says:

As we are very new to the state, I hope you do not mind us stealing a few of these! We appreciate all of your help and the awesome cookies! Andy’s was our second place we went out to as so many people recommended it! Of course Lamberts was first as everyone we told from Nebraska told us ozark has a Lamberts. Haha. Do you know of a good kayak rental place and a good drop in point? So many beautiful streams to be explored.

  8. Fawn says:

Jeremy, I hope you will “steal” from our list and get out and explore! I have asked a friend of mine who spends a lot of time on the rivers in the area for kayaking suggestions. I will email you directly when I hear back from her!

  9. Janet P says:

Don’t forget Moonshine Beach and the Branson Hatchery. The Army Corps of Engineers has a pretty fun little visitor center right there now too. 🙂 Thanks for the list, Fawn. I often forget what’s in our own back yard.

  10. What a great idea! I might have a steal a few of these.

  11. Fawn says:

Have at them Sondra! Maybe we’ll see you out and about at a few places.
