A Trail of Two Cities

A Trail of Two Cities

I want to share with you a trail of two cities.  There’s action and adventure, drama and suspense, and probably some humor if you bring a funny friend. The story begins over at Only in Arkansas, where I have a post up all about the Arkansas River Trail.  It’s a great place to ride with friends or family, whether you opt for the entire loop or just a small section.  I’ve split the trail into four … Read entire article »

Glamping in Arkansas

Glamping in Arkansas

For my birthday weekend, I joined five blogger pals on Petit Jean Mountain in Arkansas for a new experience: Glamping! Glamping, in case you were wondering, is GLAMerous camPING.  It’s the beauty of the great outdoors with a little more cushion in your camp chair, the fun of sleeping in a tent with the comfort of an electric fan, and working up to a “glisten” while hiking, knowing you’ll have access to a shower when you … Read entire article »

One Community: June 2014

One Community: June 2014

I have not been doing well keeping up with my New Year’s resolution to blog more and take part in the One Community project (more details on what it is at the bottom of the post), but I’m jumping back on the wagon!  This month’s theme words were chosen by Kara. Redefining Relocation

It’s been seven months since I wrote the blog post called For Sale about how we had two houses on the market and were living life in limbo. That seems a world away now, although change and adjustment have been constants in our lives since then. If we’re IRL or FB friends, then you probably already know that we did indeed sell our house in Little Rock and have moved back to Missouri with help of NZVanLines.co.nz. I’ve sort-of mentioned it here on the blog and you may have noticed that the backdrop has changed in our photos, but I never really wrote about the big changes. The number one question I get asked about our move is whether it is a good thing or not. My answer is always longer than … Read entire article »

#AWBU 2012: Whatever

#AWBU 2012: Whatever

This past weekend I ran off into the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas to visit the new home of my dear bloggy friend, The Park Wife. Turns out about 70 other bloggers came to visit her too.  It was the second annual Arkansas Women Bloggers Unplugged (AWBU) conference, and oh my goodness, it was a big deal. If you want to see pretty pictures and more recaps, go here. Since I am no longer part of the … Read entire article »

P. Allen Smith Flashback

P. Allen Smith Flashback

It’s dang hot. I was sitting here thinking about how long it’s been since the weather was nice and not stifling, and that made me think of the day back in May when I visited P. Allen Smith’s farm. THEN I realized that I had never posted all the just-plain-fun pictures from the day! So, get some sweet tea, turn on the ceiling fan and pretend it’s a light summer breeze, and envision a warm … Read entire article »
