Playground Review: Indoor Tubes at Rock Creek
It’s a chilly, rainy day, and I’m about to go pick up my kindergartener, who will be wound up from spending the entire day inside. Meanwhile, the thunder is keeping my three year old from taking a nap, so he’ll be whiny and crabby without some serious diversion. It’s days like today that I’m glad to live near this particular playground, which is inside a church but open to the public (FREE).
Playground: The Indoor Climbing Tubes @ The Church at Rock Creek

- Climbing stairs/ladders/platforms
- hanging rings
- play house
- 1 small slide, 1 medium slide, 1 XL slide, 1 toddler slide
- rope bridge
- activity panels
- tubes & tunnels
Setting: Indoor (climate controlled)
Surface: plastic/padded vinyl
Seating: chairs and padded benches
Facilities: restrooms and water fountain
Other features: Cafe for lunch/snacks, stairs/elevator for access, large fish tank
Comments: It can be noisy here because of echoes. Smaller preschoolers may have difficulty with the upper level, but it is pretty easy for adults to climb up and lend assistance. There is also a separate toddler play area with pint-sized features. This is a great place to let the kids run off some steam when it is too hot/cold/wet to be outside.
