What’s New with Duck Duck Goose?

Duck Duck Goose, the premier consignment sale in Arkansas, is open for business in Little Rock starting today.  The Duck Duck Goose Little Rock sale is the largest consignment sale I’ve ever been to.  I’m always impressed with the selection and the pricing.  Duck Duck Goose also has sales coming up in Conway, Jacksonville, and Pine Bluff.

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend pre-sale day.  In addition to finding some items I’ve had on my to-buy-for-the-kids list for quite a while, I also visited with Lynn Beardsley, the right hand lady to Duck Duck Goose owner Cyndi Brantley.  Lynn told me about some new events you’ll find at the sale this year.

• Junior Rush – if I had a teen or a pre-teen, I’d be all over this.  It’s a little-known fact that Duck Duck Goose had a great selection of name-brand clothing for teens, including Amercrombie, Polo, Aeropostle, Hilfiger, Gap, and more.  This spring teens can take advantage of the great prices, plus get some pampering at Junior Rush.  Tonight, Thursday March 10th, from 6-8pm, Regency Beauty Institute will have hair stylists on-hand to show teens new ways to style their hair.  There will also be make-up artists, photo shoot opportunities, door prizes, and goodie bags for all teens!  Admission is free.
• In the Spring Sale, Duck Duck Goose also provides consigners the opportunity to sell home decor and furniture.  In the past these items were only available on Saturday and Sunday, but this year you can shop home decor every day of the sale.
• In addition to the teen event on Thursday, Duck Duck Goose After Hours means the sale is open til 9pm on Thursday.  If you work or don’t have childcare during the day, this is an excellent chance to shop the sale before the weekend madness starts.
• Duck Duck Goose also has added a mobile website so that you can access Duck Duck Goose information on your phone.  This is especially exciting for consigners who can get real-time updates on their sales in two screen taps!

Anyone Need a Stroller?

Since I moved to Little Rock and started to learn about consignment sales two years ago, I have heard more than once that the Duck Duck Goose sale has a reputation for being chaotic, highly competitive, and having fewer brand-name clothes.  However, I’ve been to several different consignment sales in central Arkansas, and it doesn’t seem that Duck Duck Goose is any more chaotic or competitive than any of the other sales I’ve been to.  If anything, I’ve experienced shorter lines and more space to browse merchandise at Duck Duck Goose than at other sales.  I am not a big fan of certain name brands, so I can’t speak to that, but as I mentioned, I’ve had much better luck finding specific items I’m looking for at good prices at Duck Duck Goose.

If you haven’t been to Duck Duck Goose, I would say try it once for yourself.  And of course, the earlier in the sale you can shop, the better deals and wider selection you’ll find.
