Planning Summer Fun {giveaway}
It’s only April, but I know many of you have been planning summer for over a month now. We’ve already been bombarded with barrage of information on summer camps, summer preschool sessions, and summer festivals and special events. Squeeze in a vacation or two, trips to the pool, and visits from relatives, and things start to get overwhelming fast.
This summer I’ve decided to stay as unscheduled as reasonably possible. This is the last summer before Carina starts Kindergarten, and I want to spend it footloose and fancy-free, having fun and doing things we won’t be able to do once we have to start adhering to a school schedule. That said, I know I will need a break from the rugrats at some point, and I’ve been working on a couple short-term activities for the kids to do without me.
As you may already know, we are huge fans of the The Little Gym. In fact, our only scheduled activity for the summer is Little Gym classes. The kiddos will be splitting up this summer at TLG – Carina is going to try out the dance/gymnastics combo class while Callen continues to wreak havoc in the Funny Bugs gymnastics class. If you haven’t tried The Little Gym before, summer is a great time. You can do one class free, and then if you like, continue on with the shorter summer session (10 weeks of classes), as opposed to committing to a longer winter or spring session (20 weeks).
In addition to classes in gymnastics, dance, karate, and sports skills, this summer The Little Gym will be offering 10 weeks of summer camp. The great thing about these weekly camps is that you can choose not only which weeks you want your child to attend, but also how many days each week! This is a great program if you want to keep the kids busy all week, or if you and the kids just need a short break from one another. You can see the summer camp schedule, including hours and weekly themes, online. Pricing is as follows:
- 1 Day per week: $25 for members, $30 non-member
- 2 Days per week: $48 member, $56 non-member
- 3 Days per week: $64 member, $73 non-member
- 4 Days per week: $78 member, $86 non-member
Siblings receive a 10% discount. Camps do fill, so make your reservations early. Minimum 3 day in advance registration required for each camp day. Camps are for kiddos ages 3 to 10.
Thanks to Erin and the great staff at The Little Gym, one lucky reader will win two free summer camp days! These days can be used however you like – one day in two different weeks, two days in the same week, two kids on one day, etc…

I’m speaking to you from your future. Our summer plans: complete repairs on the old Tempo that’s been sitting at the house for years so that *gasp* my baby will have something to drive. He’s doing volunteer work at the hospital, working for the YMCA coaching/teaching those sports programs your other readers will send their kids to, and working another job for gas money.
My little guy will be taking classes at TLG and going to Hawaii where he will be tkaing surfing and golf lessons.
