Sunday, November 13Full Moon Walk Over Big Dam Bridge 6pm-7:30pm
Join members of the community in a walk over the Big Dam Bridge promoting health and fitness under the full moon. The walk starts from both sides of Big Dam Bridge at 6 p.m. The event will include live entertainment and giveaways, including T-shirts, recyclable bags and healthy snacks. Free shuttles from parking lots at Murray Park and Cooks Landing/North Shore will start at 5 p.m. For info and to register: BigDamBridge.org.

Wednesday, November 16Little Beginnings Toddler Program @ Old Statehouse Museum 10:30am
The Little Beginnings toddler program is for children ages 2 through 4 with parent. Each month the class will highlight a different topic and promote learning through hands-on activities, music making, movement and storytelling.Call (501) 324-9685 for more information.

Saturday November 19Village Big Band Concert @ Garvan Woodland Gardens (Hot Springs), 6:00pm
The Village Big Band will kick off the opening of the 2011 Holiday Lights with a concert in the Anthony Chapel at 6 p.m. The band was organized about 12 years ago to perpetuate what is known as the Big Band era of American popular music. Their repertoire contains a wide variety of styles besides ‘swing,’ including ballads, waltzes, many Latin forms, rock and even a polka or two. For info: 262-9300.

Sunday November 20Backyard Birds @ Pinnacle Mountain State Park, 10:00-11:00am
During the fall season, it is becoming more and more difficult to attract birds to your backyard since many birds are migrating south for the winter. However, many are year-round residents and are looking for food. Discover the four things necessary to attract birds to your backyard before receiving tips on food, shelter and plants that could better attract birds.

Sunday November 20East Quarry Trail Hike @ Pinnacle Mountain State Park, 2:00-4:30pm
Often overlooked, the East Quarry peak is an interesting area for unique rocks, plants, and animals, park and area history, and amazing vista landscapes. Join us for a mildly strenuous, 2½ mile hike on the East Quarry Trail. Please bring plenty of water and wear sturdy shoes; binoculars and cameras are recommended.

Are you looking for a fun and educational way to spend the holiday weekend? How about a trip up to the Pinnacle Mountain peak with a park interpreter? Discover some of the common plants growing on Pinnacle Mountain and the history of this important landmark. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes for the hike.

Saturday, November 26Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony @ The Promenade at Chenal, 1:00pm-6:00pm.
Enjoy a visit with Santa Claus and watch the beautiful fireworks display synchronized with the lighting of our 24′ Tree. There will also be performances by local indie-pop sensation Charity Vance, Ballet Arkansas, and the Chenal Elementary 5th grade singers. The Promenade at Chenal will be in it’s final day of accepting toys to benefit the Toys for Tots Foundation so please bring a toy for a special child this holiday.

Sunday November 27Arkansas Mammals @ Pinnacle Mountain State Park 10:00-11:00am
Pinnacle Mountain State Park has a diverse array of wildlife from white-tailed deer to raccoons and red foxes. Join a park interpreter at the playground today to guess some of the common mammal furs and skulls found in the park. You may be surprised at some of the diverse wildlife inhabiting Pinnacle Mountain State Park.
