Friday – Sunday, November 25 – November 27 – 14th Annual Mountain Rendezvous @ Petit Jean State Park
Experience a primitive camp and learn some of the survival skills used by Arkansas pioneers. Watch a variety of demonstrations including muzzleloading rifles, tomahawk throwing, and more! Saturday, November 26, West Summit Trail Hike @ Pinnacle Mountain State Park 9:00-11am
Are you looking for a fun and educational way to spend the holiday weekend? How about a trip up to the Pinnacle Mountain peak with a park interpreter? Discover some of the common plants growing on Pinnacle Mountain and the history of this important landmark. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes for the hike.
Saturday, November 26 – Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony @ The Promenade at Chenal, 1:00pm-6:00pm.
Enjoy a visit with Santa Claus and watch the beautiful fireworks display synchronized with the lighting of our 24′ Tree. There will also be performances by local indie-pop sensation Charity Vance, Ballet Arkansas, and the Chenal Elementary 5th grade singers. The Promenade at Chenal will be in it’s final day of accepting toys to benefit the Toys for Tots Foundation so please bring a toy for a special child this holiday.
Sunday November 27 – Arkansas Mammals @ Pinnacle Mountain State Park 10:00-11:00am
Pinnacle Mountain State Park has a diverse array of wildlife from white-tailed deer to raccoons and red foxes. Join a park interpreter at the playground today to guess some of the common mammal furs and skulls found in the park. You may be surprised at some of the diverse wildlife inhabiting Pinnacle Mountain State Park.
Sunday, November 27 – Storybook Holidays @ The Peabody Hotel, 11am
Join the ducks for a tree lighting ceremony and free photo with Santa Claus. Enjoy cookies and the Peabody Gingerbread House Display. For more info – 501-399-8059.

Think a happy thought, sprinkle some pixie dust, and fly off to Terry Library for this fun event! We will be making lots of fairy crafts and eating fun fairy food. For girls of all ages. Wings and tutus encouraged!
Saturday, December 3 – Celebration of Living Gifts @ Heifer Village, 10:00am-3:00pm
Animals from Heifer Ranch will be featured in the Alternative Gifts Marketplace and available for photo opportunities! Create a unique photo frame to take home or give to someone special, play the Heifer mapping game, Animals Around the World, and guess what animals are used in what countries, create your own alternative gift coupon book to use throughout the year, and watch the Gloryland Children’s Choir perform from 11:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Sunday, December 4 – 44th Annual Christmas Frolic @ the Historic Arkansas Museum, 1 pm – 4 pm
Celebrate the holiday season like days past. Visitors can watch nails being forged at the new Blacksmith Shop, create tree ornaments and holiday cards, sip on hot cider and enjoy ginger cake, play pioneer games, listen to 19th century fiddle music, expect a visit from Father Christmas and do some holiday shopping in the Museum Store. Free parking is available at 3rd and Cumberland Streets.
Sunday, December 4 – Holiday Open House @ The Old Statehouse Museum, 1:00-4:30pm
The traditions of joyous family holiday celebrations past can be relived at Holiday Open House. Visitors will find the Old State House colorfully decorated for the season. Fun, hands-on activities will be available to children; they may create unique holiday cards and more! Delightful carols will be performed by local music groups. Visitors will also enjoy delicious cookies and punch. Call (501) 324-9685 for more information.
