National Cookie Cutter Week December 1-7

It’s National Cookie Cutter Week! Are you celebrating? The kids and I did a little celebrating the easy way. I mixed up a batch of my friend Betty’s Sugar Cookie mix and rolled it out on the counter. Then, I armed the kids with cookie cutters. My favorite part was when I was sprinkling flour on the counter top to roll the dough out on to. Callen, who was watching me closely, was rather shocked that I was dumping flour right on the counter top. “Oh my goodness! WHAT did you just DO!” he exclaimed.

Later, we added food coloring to a tub of Betty’s vanilla frosting for some more tasty, messy fun. I love the holiday tradition of making cookies. It’s one that’s so easy to share with even the youngest kids, and it’s a great way to spend the evening.
