Sunday, May 20 – International Greek Food Festival @ Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Little Rock
This is the largest ethnic festival in Arkansas! Food, entertainment, and fun!

Friday, May 25 – Community Concert @ Simon Park, Downtown Conway, 7:30pm
The Conway Community Band kicks off this monthly concert series.

family campingFriday-Monday, May 25-28 – Memorial Day Palooza @ Lake Catherine State Park
Guided hikes, nature programs, swimming, games, crafts and a sandcastle competition, plus the Nature Cabin’s grand opening for the season. Contact 501.844.4176 for more information.

Saturday-Sunday, May 26-27Multiple Programs @ Petit Jean State Park
There are several free programs going on at Petit Jean today.  Families can learn about the State Parks’ Explorers program, bring their favorite stuffed animal for an educational round of show and tell, play pioneer games, take part in a game of softball, go on a night hike to Rock House Cave, learn about spiders, explore animal homes in the wild, and more.  Click the link above for more info.

Saturday & Sunday, May 26-27, Free Family Zone @ Riverfest, Sat 11am-7pm. Sunday 1-7pm
Located on the grounds of the Clinton Presidential Park and Heifer International, this area includes the International Village with “Festivals of the World,” highlighting Brazil, Germany, the United States, Japan, Spain and Mexico; the Yarnell’s Family Stage; the Super Receiver Series Crown Championships; and many exciting attractions that can be enjoyed by festival-goers free of charge!

Thursday, May 31Morning Stroll @ Pinnacle Mountain State Park, 9am
Meet at the Arboretum trail head for a leisurely hike on this paved trail.  You’ll see wildflowers, wildlife, and more!

Friday, June 1West Summit Trail Hike @ Pinnacle Mountain State Park, 9am-11am
Take part in this moderately-strenuous guided hike to the top of Pinnacle Mountain, where you’ll enjoy incredible scenic vistas and lots of nature along the way.

Friday & Saturday, June 1-2Hats in Hot Springs Festival in Hot springs
Hot Springs holds its first-ever Hats in Hot Springs Festival with wacky contests, free concerts and more. The festivities are free to everyone who wears a topper and starts with a concert from Memphis Soul Revue at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hot Springs Concert Band continues the party on Saturday, with a performance at 1 p.m. They’ll be followed by the Arkansas State Simon Sez Championship for all ages at 2:45 p.m. Boom Kinetic will play at 7:30 p.m., to be followed by the crowning of the TOP Hat of Hot Springs 2012. Judges will also award prizes for Most Glamorous, Most Outrageous, Best Children’s Hat and more.

Saturday, June 2Community Health Fair @ St. John Baptist Church, 8am-1pm
Come check out local and national health, beauty and fitness organizations, hospitals, physicians, dentists, faith-based and community non-profit organizations showcasing health information to the Little Rock community. Visitors can partake in health screenings, including HIV tests, blood pressure readings, dental exams and cholesterol check-ups. Or, enjoy a massage, watch a healthy cooking demo and learn CPR. Youths in 7th-12th grades can sign up for a free sports physical.

Saturday, June 2 – Kids’ Fishing Derby @ Pinnacle Mountain State Park, 8am-11am
There will be how-to-fish clinics, casting contests, free snacks, and lots of prizes. Prizes will be given away throughout the event with a special prize for the biggest fish. Bring your own lawn chairs, umbrellas, drinking water, bait, and tackle. If you don’t have a pole, you can check one out from the Central Arkansas Library system for FREE! Contest is for kids 15 and under, although everyone is welcome to fish after 11 a.m. with a fishing license.

Every Saturday from June 2 – Aug. 11Super Summer Saturdays @ the Clinton Center,  10am to 2pm.
Every Saturday this summer, a special section of the Clinton Center will be transformed into a baseball diamond filled with hands-on activity stations including interactive baseball games, puzzles, coloring, trivia and more. Each participant will receive commemorative baseball cards and Crackerjacks. Additionally, Little League Baseball Players in their uniform, along with their team coach, can enjoy a free tour of “Play Ball: The St. Louis Cardinals” exhibit throughout the summer. Super Summer Saturday activities are free; however, regular admission fees apply to tour the Library.

    I do read the free fun for families. Being a couple hours from LR, I don’t always get to go, but share them with my sister who is in LR. But I totally understand if it is too labor-intensive. Thank you for all the time you put into it.
