Free Fun For Families: The DIY Edition
Hi All. For various reasons, this will be the last Free Fun For Families post here on Instead of the Dishes for the Central Arkansas region. So, instead of publishing my normal list, I thought I would share all the resources that I use to compile my lists of free events for families.
- Little Rock Family Magazine – Your A-number one resource for family friendly events, Little Rock Family doesn’t have a separate list for free events, but their list is the most comprehensive.
- Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism – You CAN search specifically for free events here, but there isn’t quite as much listed.
- Arkansas State Parks – Search by date and driving range – you’ll find tons of great free outdoor events at our state parks.
- Central Arkansas Libraries – Nearly everything at the library is free. Check it out! (get it?)
- Laman Public Library System – With two locations in North Little Rock, Laman is a great resource for everyone.
- Home Depot Monthly Workshops – Home Depot does one workshop a month for kids ages 5 and up.
- Playground Reviews – If you just need a place to get out and play, check out my playground reviews. Always free and always fun!
In addition to visiting these websites, I highly recommend that you sign up for email newsletters from organizations and businesses that you like. I get several different monthly emails from places like The Wonder Place, The Clinton Presidential Center, Historic Arkansas Museum, and Arkansas Parks and Tourism. You’ll get the latest and greatest on free events, and sometimes coupons to save $ on things that aren’t free.
I’ve enjoyed curating this list for all of you. Central Arkansas is a great place to raise a family, and opportunities for free fun abound. Get out and enjoy the fun!
Cheers,
Fawn
