Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day!

This Sunday is Father’s Day. How are you celebrating it? Father’s Day is especially important for us this year since Craig has been traveling so much.  Yesterday the kids and I worked on some projects to present to Daddy on Father’s Day.  I “interviewed” Callen and Carina about their dad. It was so fun to hear their answers to questions like, “What does Daddy like to eat?” and “What things does Daddy do for you?”. Especially … Read entire article »

“Cloudy Day” Activities (and a few words on Pinterest)

“Cloudy Day” Activities (and a few words on Pinterest)

On Tuesday we had some friends over for some playtime.  These sweet girls have a new baby sister at home, so I thought they might like a chance to make some noise, get messy, and do something new.  Thus, our “Cloudy Day” plans were hatched. If you’re looking to do the same, keep this page in hand when you play to remember all the instructions in the right order! First, we made Cloud Dough.  Simply a … Read entire article »

Kid Craft: Paper Strawberries

Kid Craft: Paper Strawberries

I don’t spend a ton of time doing crafts these days, but this year I’ve had to go back to my crafty roots a few times to satisfy my obligations as room mom in both the kids’ classes. May Day Memories

May Day Memories

Our music teacher, Mr. Tetley, coordinated a May Day celebration every year that included the Maypole Dance, performed by … Read entire article »

Spring = New Beginnings

If you didn’t notice, I sort of accidentally-on-purpose took a break from blogging this past week.  In fact, I took a break from everything and traveled with my family and best friend to the beach for spring break.  I had originally planned to “post from the road”, but somehow I was never in the mood, and my netbook stayed in its case all week long. We returned yesterday to Little Rock and found that Spring has nearly finished working it’s magic – the grass is green, the trees have exchanged flowers and buds for broad, green leaves, and the seeds we planted in our garden just before we left are sprouting up. For me the last six months have been difficult for several different reasons, but overall I know I am … Read entire article »

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

No, I did not come up with this idea.  I got it from my friend Kim’s blog two years ago.  I’m sure it is being pinned alive on pinterest this year. The kids and I had a fun time taking the photos and picking out the font and color for the front of their Valentines.  They found writing their classmate’s names on the back to be a bit tedious, but overall, this is a very … Read entire article »
