It’s Your Bag, Baby. (giveaway)
Reusable Shopping Bags. One of the hottest things going, for sure. It makes me so happy to see more and more shoppers toting them into Kroger every time I go. Sure, getting in the habit of using the bags takes some practice and has some hazards, as Karen from Big Green Head points out in this blog post, but it’s worth it.
In addition to saving resources, using reusable bags has it’s rewards. As I mentioned in my post about ways to save at the grocery store, you’ll get a 3 to 5 cent credit per bag at the register, depending on the store. Reusable bags hold more groceries than traditional paper or plastic, which means fewer trips between the car and the house when you get home!
While we’re talking about cutting down on plastic bags, Big Green Head has another great post about recycling and reusing other types of plastic bags, like the wrap that paper towels and toilet paper come in, bread bags, etc.
It’s that time of year, so if your resolutions include anything related to being more green, saving money, or reducing waste, this is a relatively easy way to meet those goals. And I’ve got a leg up for you. I’m giving away a collection of relatively brand new reusable bags.
The spoils include five standard sized cloth bags: 1 dark green, 1 blue, 3 black; one really large cloth bag from the Eco Fab Store, and two recycled fiber bags in two sizes (these are awesome!) from Whole Foods. So, eight bags in all. I’m happy to mail (or deliver) these to the winner. Disclosure – I received all of these bags for free from various sources!
All you need to do to enter this giveaway is leave a comment below. I would love it if your comment includes topics that you would like to see me cover on this blog, but that is not required.
Comment entries will end on Sunday, January 9th at Midnight (Central) time. Winner will be chosen via random drawing and announced January 10th.

I just want to win the bags so I get to see you!! Oh and the fact that I use bags for all things, not just for groceries. Some of the bigger bags, I use when we pack a suitcase to go somewhere. I carry items that I need in them or put one in the suitcase folded and then use it for dirty clothes to keep them separate from the clean clothes. I use them on trips to pack snacks, activities, etc in to keep up front with us.
There are so many uses for them!!
Thanks!
