Passionate Penny Pincher: Blogging for Good

Today I have a blog post up over at Passionate Penny Pincher about ways to save at the grocery store without using coupons.

I met the proprieter of Passionate Penny Pincher (wew!  that’s fun to say!) at the Savvy Blogging Summit earlier this month.  Laurie was immediately warm and friendly, and I was really intrigued when I learned that she donates half of all her blog income to charity.  Right now she is working toward being able to buy a van for an orphanage that has just been established in her community.

This is the perfect example of what I was talking about when I wrote about blogging with purpose and for social good a few weeks ago.  Laurie is using her blog to not only help support her family, but also to make a difference in her community.  I like to think that I played a tensie part in that by giving her some content that she can use on her blog (and, as she said, save her 4 hours of work).  Of course, I also reap the huge benefit of having all her readers see my post.  That’s the great thing about this blogging thing – it’s a community that can work together in so many new, diverse, and amazing ways!

I owe Big thanks to Laurie for sharing my writing with her readers, and for giving me so many great tips at the Savvy Blogging Summit.  If I start to feature coupon match-ups and frugal deals on my website, you can blame it on on her, as she is truly an inspiration. (And, she also looked at me like I was nuts when I told her that there aren’t any coupon bloggers in my area and said, “Then why aren’t YOU doing it?”)

Hi Laurie! Planning to add my first daily deal today. I’m not on any type of set schedule with the deals, but I’ll definitely be phasing them in where they make sense. I’m so glad to know you, and hope to see you again IRL soon!
