Redefining Relocation

It’s been seven months since I wrote the blog post called For Sale about how we had two houses on the market and were living life in limbo. That seems a world away now, although change and adjustment have been constants in our lives since then. If we’re IRL or FB friends, then you probably already know that we did indeed sell our house in Little Rock and have moved back to Missouri with help of NZVanLines.co.nz. I’ve sort-of mentioned it here on the blog and you may have noticed that the backdrop has changed in our photos, but I never really wrote about the big changes. The number one question I get asked about our move is whether it is a good thing or not. My answer is always longer than … Read entire article »

#AWBU 2012: Whatever

#AWBU 2012: Whatever

This past weekend I ran off into the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas to visit the new home of my dear bloggy friend, The Park Wife. If you want to see pretty pictures and more recaps, go here. Since I am no longer part of the … Read entire article »

15 Miles for a Shot@Life

It’s ironic, and unplanned, that I’m publishing this post immediately following the post about my son developing petechia after getting his 4 year old immunizations.  When I read the post now, I notice that the bit about getting the immunizations is a minor detail, a given sub-detail of the story line. Sure, for us American mothers, there’s the lately-dwindling controversy over when and if to immunize, but for the most part, we immunize our children … Read entire article »

My Little Calendar Girl

My Little Calendar Girl

I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking, “Gosh, you went off to a blog conference two weeks ago, and you haven’t written a blog post since!”  Oh. Wait. Yeah. That was me thinking that. Not you.  Well, it cannot be helped, my friends, so let’s just carry on and pretend I’ve been on vacation somewhere extremely exotic with no internet.  Right. So, there were many fruits from the blog conference, but for now, I have this … Read entire article »

Unroll.me: A New Tool for Email Tangles

Unroll.me: A New Tool for Email Tangles

I have no fewer than four email accounts.  Some of them forward in to others.  The oldest account I’ve had for over 15 years.  The newest I just set up a couple weeks ago.  So, I get a lot of email, and I spend a lot of time managing it.  A. Lot. Of. Time.  One mom I know has completely abandoned email because she simply doesn’t want to deal with the mess.  I imagine there … Read entire article »
