Back to School: Our New Backpack Station

Back to School: Our New Backpack Station

I’ll be the first to admit that mornings were quite rough on us last school year.  Callen is generally a happy morning person, but Carina and I are not.  Many mornings looked like this: Mix a relatively early departure time with major procrastination (me, not the kids) and you have the perfect recipe for chaos.  I have vowed to avoid that this year.  I was given a magical miracle to help me with this – our … Read entire article »

Getting Ready for Back to School!

Getting Ready for Back to School!

It’s been a long, hot summer.  We’ve had tons of fun swimming, riding bikes, and doing a bit of travel, but I think our entire family is ready to welcome the structure that our school year schedule brings.  Much like the new calendar year, the new school year brings me a sense of renewal – a chance to reboot, make some improvements, and simplify wherever possible.  I’m a little sad that this is the last … Read entire article »

Relish! and GFree Meal Planning Giveaway

Relish! and GFree Meal Planning Giveaway

Happy Monday everyone!  After trying out a few different meal planning services, I’ve decided that Relish! is still my favorite.  The interface is easy to use, I like the format of the shopping list and recipes, and the meals are easy to prepare, but look and taste gourmet.  If you want to know more about Relish! Meal Planning, you can read the review I wrote here.  Relish! has also just come out with a new … Read entire article »

School Drop-off Limbo

School Drop-off Limbo

With both kiddos now officially back to school, we’re adapting to our new schedule.  One major wrinkle in time happens on the mornings when I drop my daughter at her school and then have 45 minutes before it’s time to drop off my son at his school, which is only 10 minutes away.  Occasionally we deliver friends to their schools as well. I hope that your town is different, but here in Little Rock, most businesses … Read entire article »

Displaying Kid Art

Displaying Kid Art

Lately I’ve been seeing some great ideas online for displaying kid art in fun and tasteful ways. And, with school starting back up, the amount of art available to display is going to skyrocket. So, I thought I would share the makeover that Craig did on our “Wall in the Hall” where we hang all our kids’ art. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, it’s great to have a handy hubby.  This is … Read entire article »

Building a Back to School Teacher basket at #MurphyUSA

Murphy USA is an oil company based of El Dorado, AR.  When we first moved here, Craig shared with me what he had learned about the company – they provide college scholarships for every child that graduates from El Dorado High School.  This in itself is pretty impressive, but then when I attended the Arkansas Women Bloggers Unplugged conference in June, I met Brittney Burroughs, who works in PR for Murphy USA. Murphy was a sponsor for the conference, so Brittney had the chance to share some of the programs that the company offers. As a “crunchy, cloth diapering, tree-hugger”, you’ll not normally find me getting excited over an oil company.  However, when Brittney told us about the many ways that Murphy USA is supporting their community, and about some of … Read entire article »
