Gifts that Feel Good #1: Petit Jean Meats Breakfast Box {review and giveaway}

I recently had the opportunity to hear the founder of TOMS Shoes, Blake Mycoskie, speak.  On why he incorporated giving into his company, he said, “Giving feels really good. That in itself is a reason to do it.” This year I am featuring a series of posts about Gifts that Feel Good.

On Saturday morning I woke up to the smell of bacon and the sound of children laughing.  It made me immediately happy.  Petit Jean meats sent us a “Breakfast Box” to review, and my husband could not wait to whip up a breakfast featuring the yummy coffee cake and incredible bacon.

Petit Jean Meats Breakfast Box Giveaway

This is the description from the Petit Jean Meats website:

With our breakfast box, all you need are some eggs and biscuits and you’ve got yourself a genuine Arkansas-style breakfast feast! Our box includes 1 Cinnamon Coffee Cake, EZ Carve Smoked Ham Slices (16 oz), Peppered Bacon (12 oz), Thick-Sliced Bacon (16 oz), and Fresh Sausage (16 oz).

There are several ways in which giving a Breakfast Box as a gift feels so good.  Here they are, for your consideration:

  • It is unique, and yet, everyone loves a big breakfast around the holidays!
  • It’s a great gift for that person/family on your list that is hard to buy for.
  • You could send this ahead to wherever you will be visiting during Thanksgiving or Christmas – it makes a great hostess thank you gift since you are essentially taking care of an entire meal, plus, you’ll get to eat some too!
  • There is something for everyone in there –  Don’t like bacon?  There’s ham!  Don’t like meat? There’s coffee cake!

Breakfast - Peppered Bacon, Coffee Cake, and an eggAs the description above says, the Breakfast Box truly is a feast.  With the addition of some eggs, and maybe toast or biscuits, the contents would easily feed a hungry crew of 8 or more.  My husband’s favorite was the peppered bacon, which we thought might be too spicy for the kids, but they gobbled it down.  They came back for seconds of the coffee cake, and I loved both the thick cut bacon (it is truly the best bacon ever) and the sausage.

You can order the Breakfast Box, which costs $57, from the Petit Jean Meats website. Shipping options include next day, 2 day, and UPS Ground, and you can pick the date that you would like your gift sent out. Petit Jean also has a collection of other gift boxes, samplers, and complete dinners that would all make great holiday gifts.

Petit Jean Meats has also been kind enough to offer Breakfast Box for one of you, my lovely readers.  Use the widget below to earn multiple entries.  The winner will be selected on Sunday, December 1st!

Disclosure: I was provided with a Breakfast Box for review by Petit Jean Meats, as well as a second Breakfast Box to give away on my blog.  This post contains my own unique blend of fact and opinion, with no outside influence, except, perhaps, a bacon eater’s high.
